Volunteer

If you would like to volunteer to support refugees and asylum seekers in Dorset, you can:

• register with the Volunteer Centre Dorset. You can register interest in supporting refugees and asylum seekers, but they also have other volunteering opportunities.  You can also volunteer to support residents of the Bibby Stockholm
• approach Community groups and organisations directly to ask if they require volunteers
  • some organisations have their own routes to recruit volunteers, such as, Skills and Learning, who are offering English lessons 
  • many community groups are listed on the Help and Kindness website

Voluntary and Community Sector

If you are a Voluntary and Community Sector organisation, and have a project in mind to support refugees or asylum seekers, you may be able to apply for small grants to support your project.

• Community Connection fund 
• Dorset Welcome Fund - supporting refugees and asylum seekers across Dorset and Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole
