Swimming lessons at Purbeck Sports Centre

Purbeck Swim School 

Children can join our swim school from the age of 3. Newbies will start in our Early Steps 1 classes and work their way through the STA syllabus. 

Stanley Badge Awards

As your child progresses through the stages of our swim school they will achieve Stanley Awards. Find out more information on the stages and awards in our swim school

• lessons are available 7 days a week, 50 weeks of the year 
• held during late afternoons and evenings every week day
• Saturday and Sunday mornings during term time

Swim School cost

Lessons cost £23.50 per month for one lesson per week on your preferred day or for £26.50 per month for swim school extra, meaning children can also swim for free during all 'Swim for All' sessions.

To spread the cost, payment is made monthly by Direct Debit. 

If you wish to cancel your child’s membership, please cancel your direct debit instruction with your bank as soon as possible to ensure that no further payments will be taken.

Receive an update on your child’s swimming lesson progress

You can email us to request an update from your child’s swimming teachers. Once your email has been received, you will be able to collect the progress card report at your child’s next lesson by reporting to the reception desk.

Parent and baby swimming lessons

Suitable from 0 to 36 months, these sessions will take your baby through their very first swimming experience in a calm and safe environment. Parent and baby swimming lessons also offer a unique bonding opportunity for parents with their little ones.

Lessons cost £34.60 for a 6 week course and you must book the course in advance. Contact us to book a lesson.

Adult swimming lessons

These courses will take you through the basics of swimming.

Join the beginners class if you are a non swimmer or a nervous swimmer to build confidence. Come along to improvers sessions if you are a leisure swimmer looking to improve your technique, stamina and efficiency using front crawl, back stroke and breaststroke.

Private swimming lessons

Private swimming lessons are suitable for those wanting to improve on their swimming strokes or to gain confidence in the water.

Lessons are 30 minutes long and are taught by a team of fully qualified swimming teachers, qualified under the Swimming Teachers Association or the National Swimming Association. Now available to block book in sessions of up to 3 months.

They are available for both children and adults individually.

Private swimming lessons times

Private swimming lessons are available in the evenings, at weekends and during the school holidays. Take a look at our swimming timetable to find out more.
