All programmes are bespoke to meet your educational needs and costs, and tailored to your curriculum.

Activities may be carried out either by Carey staff, the school (or group) or a mix of both. This will be decided on when designing your programme. For all Carey led activities, school or group staff will be asked to provide support. 

Residentials 

We have the capacity to sleep up to 150 people in our bell tent accommodation.

See the tables for a sample programme for a 3 day, 2 night residential for children. This programme is based on 32 school children.

Arrival day

  • 10:30am - Introduction, tour of site, allocation of tents and staff briefing
  • 12:30pm - Packed lunch (bring their own on the first day)
  • 1:30pm - Bespoke activity programme which could include low ropes and blindfold trail/traverse wall
  • 5:30pm - Evening meal
  • 6:30pm onwards - Evening activities (self staffing using Carey resources such as North Carey walk/film night), hot chocolate and preparation for bed
  • 10:00pm - Campsite quiet

Second day

  • 8:00am - Breakfast  
  • 9:30am to 11am - Bespoke activity programme which could include archery and orienteering
  • 12:30pm - Packed lunch
  • 1:30pm to 4:30pm - Bespoke activity programme which could include shelter building and fire lighting
  • 5:30pm - Evening meal
  • 6:30pm onwards - Evening activities including campfire and story sticks, hot chocolate and preparation for bed
  • 10pm - Campsite quiet

Final day

  • 8:00am - Breakfast, carry out duties and tidy
  • 9:00am - Pack bags and tent inspection
  • 10:00am - Team building and problem solving activities
  • 1:00pm - Packed lunch and visit shop
  • 2:00pm - Leave the site

Day visits

See the table for a sample programme of a day visit for schools. We can create sessions similar to this for any group of children or young people:

  • 10:00am
  • 10:15am to 12:15pm (Group A) - Orienteering and low ropes
  • 10:15am to 12:15pm (Group B) - Low Ropes and orienteering
  • 12:15pm to 1:00pm - Lunch at Top Wood. Children bring their own packed lunch.
  • 1:00pm to 2:20pm - Shelter building
  • 2:30pm - Leave Carey
