If you qualify for care disability and are 16+, you can get work experience, training and help to get a job. Working is a way to get out, meet people and earn money.

Our Supported Employment scheme can help you if you have already had your care needs looked at and qualify for care (a care assessment).

This is what you do next.

1. Tell your adult social care worker you want help to work

We can ask our employment coaches to talk to you and find out how they can support you into work.

They can help you if you have not had work before.

2. Tell our employment coaches what work you want to do

The employment coaches at Pluss find somewhere you can work.

To start with, it could be to train, learn and get experience or paid work.

3. Ask our employment coaches if you need any help at work

Your coach at Pluss will ask you if everything is going well. They are there to support you.

Tell them if you need anything changed at work.

4. Get experience for your career

As you get experience, your coach will talk to you about your next move.

It might be you do more hours, start paid work or are ready for another role. Your situation is unique to you.

5. Get support for at least 6 months

You will get support from your coach at Pluss for up to 6 months.

You can choose to use money for your care (if you get direct payments or independent service funds) to pay for longer support.

It is for you to decide if this is something you need. Find out about getting money for your care as direct payments.

6. Also find out about benefits

You will also be told what you need to know about benefits. We will help you to get what you are entitled to.
