Request a Vision Support Service referral

You should get medical advice if you have any concerns about your child's vision. We cannot provide diagnosis. 

We take referrals from:

• NHS professionals
• families 
• schools
• other settings like pre-schools

We can support children and young people with:

• a diagnosed eye condition
• a visual acuity of 6/18 or lower which is a moderate loss
• a vision field loss
• a condition that means that they function at around 6/18 or less

The Vision Support Service administers the registration of sight impairment which is provided by the hospital consultant. Read more about the vision impairment registration process and the benefits and concessions you can receive once registered.
