We offer a range of options for the disposal of cremated remains. Families can choose whether they are present for this or not.

Scattering in the gardens of remembrance

We place the cremated remains into a scattering urn. The remains can then be strewn in the garden of remembrance, rose gardens or the crocus area at the Weymouth Crematorium.

You also have the option to purchase a memorial and have your loved ones ashes strewn nearby.

Cremated remains graves

You may wish to purchase a cremated remains grave at Weymouth Crematorium Burial Ground.

The number of ash remains that may be interred will vary depending upon the individual circumstances of the plot and you can add a headstone if desired. Contact us for more information.

Collection

Often the deceased had a favourite location where they wanted their remains scattered. You can collect the cremated remains from the Crematorium for a private scattering. You should get permission from the landowner and obey any local rules and regulations.

If your loved one had an orthopaedic implant that was not recycled, you will not be able to scatter the remains. Find out more about the recycling of metals following cremation.

Cremated remains burial in an existing family grave

Often a family grave exists in a local cemetery or churchyard. You can usually bury cremated remains in these graves.

You will need to contact the cemetery or churchyard and have the permission of the registered grave owner in order to bury the cremated remains.
