The Remix Summertime Adventures

During the summer, Activate’s inclusive performing arts company Remix and Premix offered 35 children and young people the opportunity to escape the pandemic blues and instead, enjoy the natural surroundings of Dorset as a stimulus to be creative.

Supported by Dorset Council and Children in Need funding, the young people of Remix and Premix worked with artists Holly Miller and Aimee Hobbs to discover, explore and have heaps of fun creating and developing new skills at Rylands Community Farm in Holwell and the Ancient Technology Centre in Cranborne.

The Remix and Premix met the animals and ventured around the sites using their experience of the nature and beauty around them to create movement, make puppets, perform drama and play musical instruments as accompaniment to storytelling.

Artist Holly Miller said

they all made excellent puppets in the workshops creating, making and puppeting!  What a great team of Remix staff to work with too! It was a lovely atmosphere.

As a charitable organisation working across the county, Activate Performing Arts produces, promotes and develops the performing arts in Dorset, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole with the belief that the arts can affect and provide positive change in our communities.
